Shaggy dog has eerie outline of his own face in his tail

A dog owner has revealed her shock after spotting her pooches’ face – on his own bottom.

Alyson Shorthouse, from Wolverhampton,  was stunned when she saw an image of her mother Irish Wolfhound, named OD, on its very own tail.

Alyson said she made the shocking discovery while OD was having fun in the garden, where she saw him excitedly chasing his tail.

Upon a closer inspection, she noticed the uncanny outline of the pup’s own face in the fur around its bottom. 

The image mimicked OD’s entire face, including its grey fringe fur, long ears and even its almond-shaped eyes.

A stunned Alison couldn’t believe the sight, and so quickly posted the image online, where she joked: ‘My mother’s dog is quite two-faced’. 

In the image, OD can be seen peering backwards, making it easy to compare his face with the likeness on its tale.

The dog appears stoic, while the  twinning image appears just as gloomy, and perhaps even scary. 

Astonished users took to the post to make jest of the sighting, with one person writing: ‘A tail of two faces’.

‘Can’t tell if he’s coming or going!’ said another.

Someone else said: ‘Lord Dogdemort’.

One more said: ‘A self portrait’.

Meanwhile one person beamed: ‘Oh, this is good, this is really good’.

Despite the bizarre nature of the encounter, they’re not as rare as you might expect.

Earlier this year, Kate Conlon, from Boston, Massachusetts, was left gobsmacked when she spotted the face of a dog in her Espresso Martini.

While out at a local bar,  the mother requested the late night treat – typically made with freshly brewed coffee, coffee liqueur, and vodka – expecting to simply down the beverage and be on her way home.

But Kate couldn’t believe her eyes when she noticed the face of a cute little pooch staring back at her at the bottom of the glass.

She whipped out her phone to catch the eerie moment, which showed the foam in the shape of a dog’s head, with coffee beans acting as a nose and eyes.

And people were dumbfounded at the strangely shaped froth, which also etched out a dog’s ear making the resemblance uncanny.

Kate took to social media to share her shock, writing: ‘Look what I found at the end of my Espresso Martini.’

One person responded: ‘Why is it so cute?’

‘That’s a Puppachino!’ said another.

‘Aw poor pup. Please don’t swallow him.’ added another.

Meanwhile one person expressed concern for the foamy animal, telling Kate: ‘It looks like you’re choking it.

Elsewhere, British mother Mirjana Mohenski was left stunned while preparing salad for her children when she noticed what looked like a baby alien in her red cabbage.
