Throughout his career, Jimmy encountered a number of celebrities; many of whom had awkward meetings with the former entertainer. Now, as comedian and actor Steve Coogan is set to take on the role of the evil abuser in a new BBC drama The Wreckoning, Daily Star looks at some famous faces' dodgy dealings with Savile.
Louis Theroux
Broadcaster and documentary maker Louis Theroux spent three months with the Jim'll Fix It star for a documentary in 2000. According to Theroux, 53, the pair stayed "on good terms" after the filming of the show.
After Savile was found to have abused hundreds of people following his death in 2011, opinion was divided on the truth of the allegations. Speaking at the time, Louis said that the film he made with the entertainer was revealing, because Savile "would more or less invite people to believe he had secrets".

Later, when talking to the Sunday Times magazine, Louis admitted he was struck by the documentary he made with Jimmy once the knowledge of his paedophilia. Describing the process of filming, the Weird Weekends host said: "It's very far from soft journalism. We all knew he was doing some act."
In the documentary, Louis interrogates Jimmy on the allegations of his being a sex offender. Savile chillingly said in one exchange: "'How do [the media] know whether I am not? How does anybody know whether I am? Nobody knows whether I am or not. I know I'm not… That's my policy and it's worked a dream."
Theroux went on to make a follow-up documentary on Saville, speaking to some of his victims. He later described the piece as "a way to figure out how it was I missed what I missed."
Peter Kay
Comedian and Phoenix Nights star Peter Kay worked with Jimmy Savile during the BBC series The Sunday Show. Whilst working on the show, he recalled how the entertainer had licked the hand of a TV executive, leaving her completely baffled.
Writing in his book, Kay admitted he had admitted the disgraced comedian onto the last episode that featured the Peter Kay's World of Entertainment segment. Jimmy agreed to appear on the show in exchange for £500 cash and a box of cigars worth £1,000.
But the horrific encounter with TV exec Bridget Boseley shocked the Car Share actor, 50, when Bridget offered her hand for Jimmy to shake. Jimmy took her hand and turned it around, seeming to kiss it before sticking his tongue out and running along the back of her hand.
Bridget went on to tell Kay of the interaction, to which he replied: "I know, I saw him, the dirty old perv". Kay would work with Savile one last time after he featured in Peter's video for (Is This the Way to) Amarillo.
Kay joked at the time during a stand up routine: "[The song was] very popular at kids parties. Number one for seven weeks, biggest-selling song of that year and now thanks to Jimmy Savile it's on YouTube with a paedophile warning. Thanks for that Jimmy… dirty s***house."

Whilst on ITV 's Loose Women in 2022, singer and writer Coleen Nolan revealed that Jimmy had tried to lure her to his hotel room when she was just 14 years old. Now aged 58, she recalled how she had appeared on Top of the Pops as a teenager, on which Jimmy was a host.
Despite being too young to perform due to rules on children appearing on TV, Savile asked her to stand next to him on the set. Whilst talking to her, he asked where she was based; when she replied that she was still living in Blackpool, he made the cruel invitation.
"He said to me: 'I'm there next week and I've got a suite at a hotel, you should come and visit me'," Nolan recalled on the show. "Nothing happened. I didn't go and I thought he was a creep.
"But he was one of them. We'd meet him and he'd take your hand to kiss your hand and he'd lick your hand."
