Loose Women star Coleen Nolan admits she freaked out over worrying cancer news
Coleen Nolan has admitted she "freaked out" when she learned that her areas of skin cancer had likely been building since she was a child.
The Loose Women star revealed earlier this summer that she had been diagnosed with carcinoma on her shoulder and that she had pre-melanoma on her face, triggering an outpouring of support. She told the Liverpool Echo: "I honestly at that point never realised how massive skin canceris."
Coleen – whose sister Bernie died of cancer and whose other sister Linda is still battling the illness – went on: "People think with skin cancer they can treat that. Well they can if they get it in time like any cancer, but, equally, you can die from it."

The TV star, 58, has now had the area on her shoulder removed. But she said she is now going to get a "head to toe" check up to make sure all is well.
Coleen opened up about her diagnosis in July and got a huge response from fans and Loose Women viewers. Talking to Metro earlier this month, the star said that hundreds or thousands of people reached out after she told fans she had skin cancer.
However, she said she ended up feeling "embarrassed” about the whole thing. Coleen explained to the publication that it didn't seem close to what Linda and many other people were dealing with.
“Because in the grand scheme of things of what people are going through, including my sister, who now has brain cancer," Coleen continued. “It was just all a bit too dramatic for me."
Coleen is the youngest of seven siblings and she and her sisters rose to fame in singing group The Nolans. Sadly cancer has struck the family several times, with sisters Bernie, Linda and Anne all having been diagnosed at some point.
Bernie lost her fight against breast cancer in 2013, while Linda – who also had a breast cancer diagnosis – told fans earlier this year that her cancer had spread to her brain. Another sister, Anne, has also battled the disease but survived.
