Simon Cowell’s co-star crush and wild night of passion with Dannii Minogue
Nine years ago, Simon Cowell's life changed dramatically when he and his fiancée Lauren Silverman welcomed their son Eric into the world.
But before he settled down and started a family with the brunette beauty, the music mogul – who is known for his work as head judge on The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent – had a much wilder love life. The music producer could often be seen sailing around the world in a luxury yacht surrounded by glamorous women and friends.
Some of his famous exes include Sinitta, Jackie St Clair, Paula Hamilton, Terri Seymour, and Mezghan Hussainy. But arguably one of his most high-profile flings was with former X Factor judge Dannii Minogue back in 2008.

The doting dad has said he had several nights of passion with the brunette beauty shortly after he split from his long-term girlfriend Terri Seymour. Speaking at the time, the music producer admitted he had a huge “crush” on her at the time.
So as the lady in question, Dannii, celebrates her 52nd birthday (October 20), Daily Star is taking a look at their fling. And the details are juicy.
Simon revealed all in an interview for an unauthorised biography called Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell by respected journalist Tom Bower. He confessed: “I had a crush on her. It was Dannii’s hair, the sexy clothes, and the t**s. I was like a schoolboy.
“She was foxy, she was a real man’s girl, very feminine. It was genuine love. After Terri Seymour, I wasn’t ready for another relationship.” The news came as a shock to X Factor fans at the time who watched Simon and Dannii’s electric on-screen chemistry and bickering for years as rival judges on the hit ITV talent show.
The book also revealed that he also had quite the crush on Cheryl when she joined the show in 2008 and claimed he desperately wanted an affair with her too, even though she was still married to Ashley Cole. A source told the Sunday Mirror: “Simon and Dannii always had a big on-screen chemistry, when Dannii joined the panel in 2007, but clearly managed to hide their affair from viewers.
“They are said to have spent several nights together, but the relationship petered out after a while.” There were rumours that the pair were dating back in 2007 when they were pictured together in a car holding hands after Children In Need. At the time Dannii admitted to flirting with Simon but denied fancying him.
She said: “But that man could flirt with a book, a wall, anything. I don’t fancy him and I don’t have a type I go for, but I like a man who makes me laugh, who’s intelligent and speaks his mind.” The book goes on to claim that fellow judge Sharon Osbourne twigged that Simon and Dannii were romantically involved after spotting the pair spending a lot of time together.
It didn’t take long before there was a noticeable divide on the show, with Simon and Dannii on one side and Louis Walsh and Sharon on the other. Dannii later admitted that without Simon to support her, she would have left the show.

She explained: “If Simon hadn’t been there I would literally have gone, ‘You know what? This isn’t worth it’ and left.” According to the book, Simon described his relationship with Cheryl as like a mouse being played with by a beautiful cat.
He reportedly says she managed to twist him around her little finger and would even look stunning dressed down in a tracksuit and slippers. Now, more than a decade later, the music producer has found love in the arms of his fiancée Lauren.
The happy couple are set to tie the knot next year after he got down on one knee on Christmas Eve in 2021.
