BBC Breakfast’s Sally Nugent insists ‘no one noticed’ as set gatecrashed on air

BBC Breakfast descended into chaos during the latest episode after weather reporter Matt Taylor stepped on set far too early.
On Tuesday's show (September 19), presenters Ben Thompson and Sally Nugent were back on the famous red sofa discussing the latest sports highlights with John Watson.
But before John wrapped up his conversation with the hosting duo, Matt could be seen standing patiently in the background.

Seeing the evident blunder, Ben, 42, burst out laughing, while Sally later insisted "no one noticed".
Once realising the calamity behind him, John said: "Matt's gonna be enjoying it as well, he's looking eager isn't he?"
Laughing, Ben asked: "Can we see that again," as Matt jokingly repeated his previous error.
When Matt was finally introduced properly to present his segment, he also couldn't help but make light of his mishap, telling Sally and Ben, "nobody noticed" and "there's nothing to see here".
But viewers also found the moment rather funny and reposted the clip on X formerly known as Twitter.
This isn't the first time Matt was involved in an on-set blunder.
In June, BBC Breakfast viewers were quick to spot a behind-the-scenes blunder when a member of crew was caught on camera running in with a cup of tea in their hand.
Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were the presenting duo in the hot seat during the awkward mishap when they thought the cameraman had cut to weatherman Matt.
Naga said: "Let’s talk to Matt, let’s find out what’s happening with the weather, it’s misty there."
Although the camera did cut to Matt presenting in front of the weather screen, things quickly took a wrong turn.
The wrong camera then suddenly switched back to Naga and Charlie, showing a man creeping across the studio with a carefully-balanced cup of tea on his script.
Taking to social media at the time, one fan wrote: "I love it when you get a little insight behind the scenes. Always wondered how the @BBCBreakfast presenters survive when they get up so early.
"A constant supply of tea or coffee is clearly one of the key things! Is it for @TVNaga01 or Charlie?"
