First Ladies of Hip Hop
This BBC Two documentary delves into the legacy of black women who have thrived in the hip-hop industry, from Cindy Campbell, producer Sylvia Robinson and the work of pioneering artist Millie Jackson.
First Ladies of Hip Hop airs on Saturday, October 7, on BBC Two.
Black Boys Can Cry with Alex Beresford
ITV’s Alex Beresford was devastated after the loss of his best friend Martin to suicide and felt inspired to make this documentary.
It will explore the unbelievable statistic that black men are far more likely to suffer from severe mental health issues with Alex meeting up with experts to get to the root of the problem.
Black Boys Can Cry with Alex Beresford airs on Sunday, October 8, on ITV.

Breaking Through with Zeze Millz
Presenter Zeze Millz is sitting down with some of the biggest names in television, including stars from Coronation Street and Bridgerton to celebrate black British actors.
They open up about their personal experiences getting into the industry, as well as their successes and challenges.
Breaking Through with Zeze Millz airs on Wednesday, October 11.
Black In Fashion
This one-off special follows the creation of the first Black Fashion Gala, GUAP which takes place at the Natural History Museum.
The documentary also explores how much influence black culture has had on the world of fashion throughout the decades.
Black In Fashion airs on Sunday, October 15, on ITV.

Three Little Birds
Lenny Henry’s Three Little Birds will be making its debut later this month, although no release date has been announced.
The drama follows the lives of three women who make their way from Jamaica to the UK post-Windrush and quickly encounter difficulties none of them were expecting.

This comedy-drama follows black college students who are attending an Ivy League university, giving an insight into modern American race relations.
Family Reunion
Sitcom Family Reunion, which consists of five seasons, sees the McKellan family make the move from Seattle to a small town in Georgia where their ways are challenged by traditional grandparents.

Godfather of Harlem

Created by and starring actress and writer Issa Rae, comedy series Insecure looks at the friendship of two black women and all of their day-to-day challenges with love and careers.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
This classic 1990s sitcom is still just as hilarious and moving as it was when it first aired, starring none other than actor Will Smith when he was first starting out.
Family Matters
A spin-off of Perfect Strangers, Family Matters is about the middle-class family, the Winslows, living in Chicago, Illinois.

Black-Ish
Award-winning sitcom Black-Ish ran for eight seasons, delving into key issues around cultural identity as parents raise their children in a predominantly white, upper-middle-class neighbourhood.
The Proud Family
This animated series is one for all of the family with a focus on 14-year-old Penny Proud as she navigates life as a black teenager.
Smart Guy
TJ is a boy genius who gets moved up to high school but now has to adjust to his new life with older children and sharing classes with his cool 14-year-old brother Marcus and his self-absorbed 16-year-old sister Yvette.
