Emmerdale’s Belle Dingle and Tom stars address future after ‘aggressive’ history
Emmerdale: Tom drops the L-bomb on Belle
Belle Dingle (played by Eden Taylor Draper) proposes to Tom King (James Chase) in upcoming scenes on Emmerdale. She’s given food for thought when Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) pushes her to give the proposal another shot.
With Leyla Hardling’s (Roxy Shahidi) help, Belle conjures up a new plan. The following day, a blindfolded Tom gets taken to an ice rink by Leyla, oblivious to what is going on.
He is soon left stunned to see Belle has arranged a marriage proposal with the help of iconic Olympian skaters Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean as he is a huge fan.
Belle’s over the moon when he accepts her wedding proposal and Torvil and Dean soon skate over during the heartwarming moment.
However, things have not always been smooth for Belle and Tom who have been through highs and lows since they first met.
In recent months, Tom physically lashed out at Belle after she rejected his proposal. It caused her to fall to the ground and cut her head open on a table.
He profusely apologised and promised it was an accident before assuring Belle that anything like that would happen again.
She believed him and clearly had a change of heart about marrying him, as she has now proposed.

Will their Valentine’s Day wedding go down without a hitch, or could his “aggressive” history throw a spanner in the works?
Speaking to Express.co.uk and other media, Eden said: From that moment on we have been on a good path.”
Tom added: “I think it was sort of like a freak incident and I think it shows how good a person Belle is that she was able to forgive him for that. It was a terrible thing to happen and I think they just moved through that and they sort of forget about it.”
Tom added: “I think initially when Tom came into the show, everybody had eyes on him, thinking something was going to be up with him.

“When he was younger her was going through his issues and was pretty aggressive and all that. I think it’s very easy to assume that he was going to be like that again.
“I think unfortunately now that that has happened everyone’s once again back in that place ready to assume it’s going to go down the pan.
“It was just something which happened unfortunately and it just shows how strong their relationship is and again how wonderful Belle is.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX.
