First look at The Crown’s version of iconic Princess Diana Mario Testino magazine cover | The Sun

PRINCESS Diana’s famous photoshoot with royal favourite Mario Testino has been recreated for TV’s The Crown.

The original shots appeared in Vanity Fair in July 1997, a month before Diana’s death.

The new portraits, featuring Elizabeth Debicki as the princess, coincide with the release of the first four episodes of the hit Netflix series.

They dramatise Diana’s final months and her romance with Dodi Fayed.

The remaining six episodes of the final series are out next month.

The creators of The Crown have given fans a sneak peak at the sixth and final season of the Netflix show.

Hollyoaks star unrecognisable as he lands huge part in Netflix's The Crown

The royal drama kicks off in 1997 with the relationship between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed blossoming just before both are killed in the fateful car crash in Paris.

Meanwhile her sons – Princes William and Harry – are at home with their father, Prince Charles, in Scotland.

The producers have painstakingly recreated the famous image of the Prince of Wales, played by Dominic West, and the two boys by a river in the Highlands.

And the red dress being seen worn by Elizabeth Debicki, who plays Diana, is an almost exact replica of the same outfit the princess once wore in July 1997.
