Grace Dent’s first TV role after I’m A Celeb exit confirmed as she lands in UK

Grace Dent has already landed herself a new TV job as she returned to the UK after quitting I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Food critic Dent, 50, dramatically left the ITV show on medical grounds on Monday (November 27), after fans were concerned with her overall well-being. During the course of her time in the jungle, she admitted that she was struggling, whispering to This Morning host Josie Gibson during one conversation: "I just want to go home."

Since leaving the show, MasterChef judge Grace was spotted coming through the arrivals at Heathrow Airport in London. Looking healthier than she had been on her time on the show, she had traded her jungle attire for something more stylish as she rocked a casual look with a black turtleneck and a pair of jeans.

Looking despondent, Grace was eager to get away from the public so she could continue to recover. However, it seems that Grace will not be away from our screens for too long after she has already landed a new show on TV.

One of Grace's MasterChef co-stars Jay Rayner revealed that she would be returning to the silver screen for a one-off special of the show, where the critics themselves will be tested on their cooking skills. Taking to social media, Rayner confirmed the news, writing: "Don't know what you wanted for Christmas, but here's what you're gonna get. A MasterChef special in which us critics cook off against each other featuring Jim, William Sitwell, Leyla Kazim, Grace Dent and yours truly.

"I know, I know – it's all your Christmas wishes come true," he joked as he ended the tweet. He added that "tables will be turned" on the critics, who are known as some of the toughest to impress in the entire country.

Grace's time in the jungle was cut short after a mutual agreement between her and ITV bosses meant she left the show behind. On her last day in camp, she confided in a conversation with Jamie Lynn Spears that she felt "rancid".

Dent officially left the show during Monday night's show. Later on in the week, she wrote a touching letter to her former campmates in which she explained why she chose to leave the show.

With Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard reading the letter in camp, Grace wrote: "My dear campmates, I'm so sorry to let you down. I have left the camp for medical reasons.

"My heart is broken, I have loved and enjoyed getting to know you all," she continued. "You've held me up and it's been a pleasure being your friend through this experience."

She finished her tribute to the other campmates: "Leaving you all at this stage will be one of the saddest things in my life. I love you all; your friend, Miss Grace Dent."

I'm A Celebrity airs every day at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
