Inside Corrie DS Swain star Victoria Meyer’s career as Stephen Reid is exposed
Coronation Street has been rocked by vile serial murderer Stephen Reid's antics as he tried to make a getaway.
The killer was exposed for his crimes in shocking scenes earlier this month, leaving Sarah Platt and Jenny Connor fighting for their lives in a tense battle in the boarded up Rovers Return. After sending Underworld into the ground and killing three characters off, Stephen almost made it out of the country, but a missing passport drove him back to Weatherfield.
In shocking scenes, resident detective DS Swain was there to close in on Stephen, before he was brutally killed off by Peter Barlow as he mowed the murderer down with his car. Stephen's death has since sparked a feud between the Platts and the Barlows, as Audrey claims Peter killed him in cold blood.

DS Swain had been hot on Stephen's heels to throw him in prison and bring justice to the families. But for actress Victoria Myers, this is not her first time on the ITV soap, or indeed the silver screen itself.
Victoria first joined the Corrie family back in 2007, when she played the role of a paramedic. She also appeared three years later as a car driver that pulled over at the behest of Tyrone Dobbs after he and his then-wife Molly had crashed.
She also was spotted in her current part as DS Swain from as early as 2021, when she was seen in several police investigations on the Street. This culminated in Swain taking the lead in the hunt for serial killer Stephen.
Outside of her dangerous life as a policewoman on the cobbles, Victoria is also spotted on ITV's new drama The Long Shadow. The show looks at the police force who stopped Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe from his vile murderous spree after he remorselessly killed 13 women in the 1970s.
As well as this, she has made several appearances on other shows including Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, Casualty and Ackley Bridge. But despite her various TV cameos, fans will mostly recognise her as the officer who tried to bring Stephen Reid down.
After chillingly murdering Leo Thompkins, dad Teddy and Rufus Donahue, Swain was tasked with bringing Stephen down. However, things began to change when Peter, who stopped Stephen in his tracks, was brought in for questioning by DS Swain herself.
Fans watching the show were quick to point out the hypocrisy from the policewoman, with one viewer writing: "This DS Swain lady and Carla were the two main people who wanted to take Stephen down and now Swain is hating Peter for all the crimes Stephen committed!"
