MAFS UK star Laura Vaughan breaks silence after brutal Arthur Poremba dumping
Married At First Sight star Laura Vaughan has spoken out since brutally dumping her husband Arthur Poremba on the popular E4 show.
On Monday night's episode (November 13), Laura put an end to her whirlwind marriage with Arthur as she decided that they would not work outside of the experiment. But during their final vowel renewal ceremony, Laura said some rather hash words to her now ex-husband as she returned her ring.
Laura told Arthur: "I know we've grown as individuals in this process, but the more I grow as a person the more I grow apart from you. I've always been a fixer, but I've realised this relationship is something that can't be fixed."
However the Chelsea socialite's harsh words didn't sit well with viewers as many headed over to social media to complain. Due to fans' shocked reactions, Laura has since spoken out about the brutal dumping online.
Taking to her Instagram stories, she wrote: "You don't have to like what I chose, or understand it, that's absolutely fine. You weren't there and didn't feel it.
"I know I made the right decision for the both of us. Arthur is perfect, I stand by that," followed by two love heart emojis.
Following Laura's drastic dumping, Married At First viewers shared their grievances about the way Arthur was treated online with many speculating that Laura's friends were the ones who influenced her final decision. Taking to X formerly known as Twitter, one fan wrote: "Laura the strong independent woman you say you are wouldn’t rely on anyone’s opinion but her own. She certainly won’t need the opinion of her toxic friends to influence any decision."
While another fumed: "You know, Laura, the whole Bad-B***h energy and leaving your husband by throwing your ring at him only really works if you've been treated like s**t throughout the experiment. I don't think that was as powerful for you as you think it was."
Since the dumping, Arthur has also spoken out on social media. He said: Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. Thank you for what’s probably going to be one of the best experiences of my humble life.
As well as thanking those who worked on the show, he said: "This journey has taught me a few things. I’ve learnt that it’s ok not to be ok, you don’t always have to pretend that you’re the strongest person alive, it’s ok to be vulnerable at times and show your feelings and emotions when needed.
"Thank all the crew and cast members but most importantly Laura for putting up with me behind closed doors. I’ve said and done so many things that didn’t even make the edit!"
