Outlander’s Sam Heughan celebrates strike ending and teases next role
Outlander: Season 7 part 2 teaser for STARZ drama
Outlander’s Sam Heughan has taken to Instagram with a positive message for fans in the wake of the SAG-AFTRA strike coming to an end.
Thousands of Hollywood stars will be heading back to set and the red carpet over the next few months after the actors’ union reached a deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers on Thursday.
Heughan, best known as Jamie Fraser in the hit Starz drama, was clearly thrilled to be able to get back to work.
“The strike is over!!” he exclaimed in his latest social media post.
“Delighted to be able to work, promote and talk about Acting again…”

Heughan’s post included a short carousel from behind the scenes of a number of his recent projects.
In the first snap, he took a sweet selfie with his Outlander co-star Caitriona Balfe, who portrays Jamie’s wife Claire Fraser.
The second was a shot of his stint as a dwarf in his documentary show with Graham McTavish, Men In Kilts, and the third featured the cast of The Couple Next Door.

His new thriller series will be coming to Channel 4, Starz and Lionsgate+ very soon, and also stars Poldark’s Eleanor Tomlinson and Alfred Enoch.
The drama is an adaptation of the Dutch series New Neighbours, and Heughan stars as a traffic cop.
An official synopsis reads: “Evie and her boyfriend Pete move next door to traffic cop Danny and yoga instructor Becka and strike up a friendship.

“But a night of passion between Evie and Danny could have consequences.”
Now the strike is over, Heughan will also soon start work on the eighth and final season of Outlander.
The seventh instalment began this June, and the second half of eight episodes is confirmed to air sometime next year.
Outlander is available on Starz in the USA and Lionsgate Plus in the UK.
