Paris Fury’s vow renewal plans: ‘Tyson wants a Big Fat Gypsy Wedding’
In just a few short weeks, Paris and Tyson Fury have become TV's new golden couple.
Their Netflix TV show, At Home With The Furys, was only released back in mid-August, but it seems everyone's fallen in love with the latest reality stars after they opened up their Morecambe mansion – complete with six children – to the cameras.
The docu-series may have given an insight into the family's hectic and chaotic life, but one thing is clear for all to see – the huge amount of love that exists between Loose Women star Paris, 33, and her boxing world champion husband Tyson, 35, who recently welcomed their seventh child, adorably called Prince Rico Paris Fury, known as Rico.
The pair met at a mutual friend's wedding, when Tyson was 17 and an unknown boxer, and Paris was 15. They were introduced by Tyson's Aunt Theresa, who's known as the matchmaker in the family.
Remembering the occasion, Paris told the Irish Mirror: "She said to Tyson: ‘Come and meet this young lady’. I lifted my head and I was expecting to see someone at eye level because I’m not small myself, I’m five foot eight.
“I remember thinking, ‘Whose this old man you’re introducing me to?’
“He had a full beard, and was built like a machine. I thought, ‘You’re not a young boy… I’m going… You’ve introduced me to an old man.’”
Yet fast forward 15 years and the couple live their own happily married life complete with seven children. In fact, they're so in love that 'Gypsy King' Tyson has proposed to Paris on three different occasions, with the latest coming at the end of their At Home With The Furys TV series.
Now Paris has exclusively opened up to OK! about her plans for another big day, while explaining it hasn't happened so far as "we feel pregnant, so haven't had time."
She revealed the occasion would be on a much smaller scale to her original show-stopper back in November 2008, which saw 300 guests squeeze into S. Peter-in-Chains Catholic Church in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, for the much-awaited nuptials.
Paris, who's just released her second book How Does She Do It?, revealed: "I don’t want a big ceremony or a big wedding, I’d like something private with just me and him."
She continued: "It’ll be nice to reaffirm our vows. If he had his way he’d have it like a circus – a whole Big Fat Gypsy Wedding again! But I think I’ll go subtle."
On their first big day, Paris looked beautiful wearing a strapless white dress with lace detail and an elegant veil, while Tyson donned a dark grey suit with white waistcoat, blue tie and cream corsage. At the lavish reception, they cut into an unbelievable seven wedding cakes.
However Paris has revealed she nearly called it off after reaching 'breaking point' when Tyson wanted to move the wedding forward after failing to make it into the Beijing Olympics, which they'd planned it around.
Writing in her 2021 book Love & Fury, Paris said: "My fiancé clearly didn’t understand the amount of planning and organisation that went into a wedding. I was beginning to realise how incredibly impulsive he was, the sort of person who lived life in the moment and liked to make decisions on the hoof.
"In Tyson’s world, our big day could be rescheduled on a whim, just like one of his boxing matches. I was having none of it, though, and refused point blank to change the date."
Reports suggest At Home With The Furys will be renewed by Netflix for a second season, but when asked if it's coming back, Paris is giving nothing away.
She told us: "We’re still in talks for a second series. Netflix are dying to do it and the reaction was so good so we’ll see!"
