Sally Nugent loses it after spotting BBC co-stars doppelganger in clip

On Monday’s instalment of BBC Breakfast, presenter Sally Nugent was left in stitches after watching a clip of King Charles giving a speech in Paris.

However, it was a man who was spotted next to the monarch who stole the show as the host pointed out how similar he looked to her co-host Jon Kay.

Playing the video, Sally started to giggle as she said: “Jon Kay, at the Elysee Palace with the King!”

Joking, he replied: “I’ve had the weirdest weekend since this went out.

“I mean, it really does look like me, doesn’t it? It’s freaky.”

Giving viewers more context on the video, Sally told viewers the clip was taken from the King’s speech last week in Paris.

Going back to the video, the hosts started laughing at Jon’s lookalike as Sally was left stunned by the resemblance.

He commented: “Doesn’t just look like, nicks other people’s drinks like me!

“I started getting loads of messages from people saying, ‘Have you seen this?’”.

As the duo watched footage of his doppelganger helping the royals at the event, they commented on how kind and attentive he was.

Jon added: “It is weird.”

Sally asked: “Are you sure you weren’t in Paris?”

Putting his hands up in defence, he replied: “I promise it wasn’t me, although some people thought it was some kind of green screen but no, it wasn’t me.”

Gobsmacked, his co-star commented: “He looks so much like you.”

It looked as though viewers could also see the uncanny resemblance as @JanetArnott8 commented: “Well, they do say everyone has a doppelgänger.”

@PhilGreenrm41 added: “If only this was held back to 1st April. This would have been a brilliant Fool’s Day gag [sic] That’s so funny.”
