Romance was in the air on Tuesday’s episode of The Chase (September 12) after a contestant began flirting with chaser, Shaun Wallace.
Host Bradley welcomed the new batch of players to the ITV show, with Melanie, Abigail, Stanley and Darryl joining the panel.
But it was blonde stunner Melanie, 48, a catering assistant from Kingston, that caught everyone’s eye after telling Brad she hoped it would be The Dark Destroyer appearing on the show.

When Shaun himself appeared as today’s quizmaster, her face lit up, before Shaun said: “Hi Mel, how are you?” to which she replied with a beaming smile, gushing: “I’m good all the better for seeing you.”
Bradley then dubbed it “cringe” – but it didn’t end there.
“I’ve written a poem for you,’ said Shaun, whipping out a piece of paper from his pocket when it was Mel’s turn to take him on.
The poem read: “Cards by Shaun Wallace. I make cards that a reason to be glad. It doesn’t matter how old you are that’s a reason to be glad.”
Fans flocked to social media to comment.
“Was Melanie and Shaun just flirting or is it just me?” asked one fan.
“Melanie fancies @TheShaunWallace,” penned a second accompanie by a heart emoji.
“Melanie is flirting with Shaun and he wrote a poem??? LOL!” added a third.
Unfortunately, Melanie appeared to cave under the pressure of Shaun’s charms and he was quick to catch her out and send her home.

“it’s a shame I’ve had to knock someone as lovely as you out,” Shaun gushed, as she thanked him for his kind words.
Bradley interrupted their tender moment, saying: “well it’s too late now! Why didn’t you think about that earlier,” to which she added, “yeah you should have got more wrong.”
It was the start of a losing streak for the team as all players except Darryl were send home by Shuan.
Darryl managed to bag an impressive £8k for the prize pot taking on Shaun in the final chase solo.
Darryl bagged 13 correct answers and after a poor performance from Shaun he was victorious and took home his winnings.
