Homes Under The Hammer fans say same thing as Martin and screen wife reunite

Homes Under The Hammer fans have called for Martin Roberts and Lucy Alexander to permanently reunite following the show’s 20th anniversary celebrations in Scotland on Wednesday.

In a picture shared by Martin, 60, he and Lucy, 53, were all smiles next to a decorative cake dedicated to the show and it’s long-running success.

Alongside the snap, he wrote: “Back with my screen wife.”

Another post shows the pair alongside Martel Maxwell, who replaced Lucy in 2017, Jacqui Joseph and Tommy Walsh at the event.

The group were all smiles for the camera and appeared in great spirits holding onto glasses of fizz.

He added: “So proud to have been part of this amazing show since it began in 2003. Watch the special anniversary shows on Friday.”

While many fans sent congratulatory messages to the team, others called for Lucy and Martin to reunite on a permanent basis.

One wrote: “Ah lovely, you are both legends and miss your working relationship on HUTH.”

“Aww I miss you both on HUTH you need to reunite x,” a second typed.

A third added: “Love this! Hope you guys had a fab time! Still love HOTH but miss you guys as a duo.”

“Great picture of you both. Miss Lucy being on the show I wish they world bring her back,” a fourth echoed.

Lucy gave fans a further insight into their evening on her Instagram Story, in view of her 65,000 followers.

In a short clip, she hugged her “old telly sidekick” Martin and told fans she found him at the bar.

The property expert went on to share an opening link to one of their first episodes together, adding: “Warning… I’m very young and it’s depressing.

“It was a huge part of my life whilst having babies and bringing up my family and driving around the country filming in Damp Semi’s in Stoke with Martin… I wouldn’t change a thing we had a blast, I LOVED it all.”

She went on say it was “amazing” to catch up with “familiar faces who were all part of the journey and some new ones who are doing a great job” and thanked the team for having her.

Lucy stepped away from the show after 14 years back in 2016 to explore other options including a commerical deal.

Earlier this year, she said of a potential return: “I think it’s very much a case of I could return and it would be fantastic. I would love it and I think the viewers would love it.

“Homes Under the Hammer is just in my DNA. I birthed that show. I was the first ever presenter on it.

“I did it for 14 years – I love that show,” she added to The Metro.
