Jet To Be Inducted Into ARIA Hall Of Fame

The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) has announced that Melbourne rock band Jet will be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame on November 15 at the 2023 ARIA Awards. The ceremony will premiere live on Stan at 5 pm AEDT.

“After a two-year hiatus, the prestigious honor returns to recognise Jet’s extraordinary contribution to the Australian music industry, their timeless debut album Get Born, and their continued success throughout their illustrious career with albums including Shine On in 2006 and Shaka Rock in 2009,” ARIA said in a press release.

Jet’s debut album Get Born, released in 2003, remains the highlight of their career. Get Born scored six ARIA Awards in 2004 and was certified nine-times platinum in Australia, making it one of the top five highest-selling Australian rock albums of all time.

After calling it a day in 2012, Jet briefly reformed in 2017 to play with Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band on their sold-out Australian tour, evoking an overwhelming response.

Responding to the news of Jet’s ARIA Hall of Fame induction, the rock band’s frontman Nic Cester said, “We’re all quite chuffed and honored to be in such esteemed company. We are humbled to receive this recognition.”

Jet will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Get Born with a tour commencing on September 22 at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre. It will be followed by shows at Hindley Street Music Hall in Adelaide on September 23, in Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on September 29, and concluding at Enmore Theatre, Sydney, on September 30.
