Jonnie Irwin praised by fans after marking precious moment with sons

Jonnie Irwin took his three sons to their swimming lessons amid his cancer battle.

The 49-year-old announced last November that he only had “months to live” after lung cancer spread to his brain and became terminal.

Since then he has been documenting his life with his wife Jess and the couple’s three sons, Rex, four, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.

Taking to Instagram today the TV presenter shared a heartwarming photo of his three boys sitting poolside.

“Swimming lessons – proper dad vibes watching my trio today,” Jonnie told his 219,000 followers, who swiftly flooded the comment section as they praised the Escape to the Country presenter.

One person gushed: “Aw precious memories.”

Another commented: “You are one hell of a real dad! An amazing one at that. They now have another memory. You keep doing what you can for as long as you can. You have us all behind you.”

A third wrote: “Top top Dad Jonnie. One day in the future those boys will look back and be so proud of you. Keep going and all power to you.”

“You most certainly are a real Dad. Top man,” another remarked.

While a fourth added: “You are an awesome dad. Keeping being you… they are so lucky to have you in their lives. It’s quality over quantity Jonnie that matters.”

The broadcaster and his family moved to the Hertfordshire town of Berkhamsted in 2018 before settling in the Newcastle upon Tyne area.

Jonnie was told he had cancer in 2020 and at the time he was given just months to live.

He went public with his diagnosis last year and has been open about his determination to fight the disease and make the most of the time he has with his loved ones.

Jonnie recently shared a photo while wearing an oxygen mask as the presenter revealed the cancer is “on the move again” in a new update.

The presenter shared he had been using alternative therapies to alleviate his symptoms.

Jonnie recently visited the wellness spa which provides various treatments to help detoxify the body and the dad of three posted a photo while relaxing at the health clinic.
