Kaleb Cooper has addressed his unusual decision to have a perm on Clarkson’s Farm.

The 25-year-old appeared on Claudia Winkleman’s podcast with stand-in host Alex Jones and talk soon turned to his love for having different hairstyles.

The farmer said he was 20 when he began filming the Amazon Prime show, before Alex, 46, interjected by saying: “With all of your different hairstyles.”

Kaleb responded: “I had to stop the perm, I’ve gone for all straight now.”

Alex admitted she thought Kaleb’s decision to have a perm was a “funny choice”.

The television personality said: “I loved the perm, love the perm! Curly hair, I mean I could talk about hair all day.”

The One Show host joked: “A farmer with a perm in the Cotswolds.”

Kaleb shot to fame on the hit series Clarkson’s Farm which first aired in June 2021 on the streaming platform Amazon.

The show follows Jeremy Clarkson’s attempts at running 1,000 acre farm Diddly Squat in the Cotswolds.

As well as Kaleb and Jeremy, 63, the former Top Gear host is joined by his girlfriend Lisa Hogan who assists him on the farm and runs the farm shop.

The show has become a huge success, with the second series becoming the most-watched original series on Amazon in the UK in 2023.

Kaleb previously opened up about his equation with Jeremy, with tensions running high at times while they both work on the farm in Chipping Norton.

The dad-of-two admitted that the pair bicker and won’t speak to one another for a couple of days to cool off.

He told the Daily Mail: “We argue and then we won’t talk for two days, but after we’re fine.”

Kaleb said neither of them gets offended by the other and don’t hold any grudges, with the duo being able to move forward.

The farm manager and Jeremy are really good friends outside of the show, with them spending time together at the pub and concerts.

Season two of the popular series aired in February and the third season is expected to be streamed in 2024.
