Katya Jones shares cheeky pic with Strictly 2023 partner days before launch show

Strictly: Katya Jones appears to be emotional in the audience

Strictly Come Dancing favourite Katya Jones gave fans a cheeky teaser of her 2023 dance partner on her Instagram Stories today.

The 34-year-old brunette could be seen grinning from the dance studio with a glimpse of what appeared to be a man’s hand in the corner of the image.

“Literally the only content since Sunday,” she wrote in the caption alongside a smiling emoji.

The professional dancers have already been matched up with their celebrities, although the pairings will not be announced until Saturday night’s launch show.

Katya and her mystery famous face have been hard at work in the dance studio preparing for the BBC show’s 21st season.

“I have had the most fantastic seven years on this show. But I still get butterflies in my stomach in anticipation of the new season,” she wrote on her Instagram when sharing the trailer for the new season.

The Russian-born dancer has been previously paired with politician Ed Balls, comedian Seann Walsh, boxer Nicola Adams and won season 15 with actor Joe McFadden.

Last year she finished ninth with former footballer Tony Adams.

Katya recently appeared in an eye-catching red gown at the NTAs, where she had an emotional reunion with her Strictly co-stars Amy Dowden and Dianne Buswell.

‌Amy’s attendance at the event came just days after her third round of chemotherapy following her breast cancer diagnosis.

The NTAs saw Strictly win the gong for Best Talent Show, beating Britain’s Got Talent, The Great British Bake Off and The Great British Sewing Bee.

“Thank you to everyone who voted for us! I truly believe the success of this show lies in the genuine love and care that we have towards each other within this big, big family!

“I hope it comes through and we will continue to dedicate ourselves to creating the best show on tele for you to enjoy,” Katya wrote in an Instagram caption, alongside a red carpet photo of the trio.

Male celebrities competing this year include Paralympian Jody Cundy, actors Adam Thomas, Bobby Brazier and Nigel Slater, comedian Eddie Kadi, journalist Krishnan Guru-Murthy and showbiz legend Les Dennis.

Meanwhile, the professional line-up remains similar to last year’s, with the likes of Dianne, Karen Hauer, Giovanni Pernice and Johannes Radebe all joining Katya for another year of glitz and glam on the ballroom floor.

Strictly Come Dancing returns Saturday at 6:35pm on BBC One.
