Nickelodeon Renews ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ For 15th Season!
Huge news for SpongeBob SqaurePants fans – he’s not going anywhere!!
It was just announced on Friday (September 29) that the long-running, hit show has been picked up for a 15th season on Nickelodeon, Variety reports.
This will continue the show’s reign as the longest-running animated series on the network, and the second longest-running show ever on the kids’ channel.

The new season will consist of 26 episodes, which by the end of it, will be bring the show’s episode count to 345 total!
Having first launched in 1999, the series will hit it’s milestone 25th anniversary in 2024.
If you didn’t know, this exciting news also comes just as the show’s 14th season is about to premiere on Nickelodeon in November. That season was originally announced in March 2022.
SpongeBob SquarePants centers on the incurable optimist SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, Plankton and Squidward, who will all uncover even bigger nautical adventures in the new season.
The voice cast includes Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks) and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton).
Since it’s premiere, SpongeBob has spawned spinoffs Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years and The Patrick Star Show, has had multiple movies, and even a Tony award-winning Broadway musical!
If you forgot or missed the news, several new SpongeBob SquarePants movies are in the works, including a Sandy Cheeks spinoff on Netflix.
