Olly Murs shocked and gutted as hes dropped from The Voice UK in huge shake-up

Singer and TV personality Olly Murs said he is “gutted” that he will no longer be appearing on the hit ITV show The Voice, after the series revealed they had dropped him in a phone call last week.

After spending years as a panellist in the singing competition, Olly has opened up on his hurt feelings on the final decision.

The former X Factor star told The Sun: “I’m gutted. I got the call last week to say I won’t be back on the show, and it’s a bit of a shock, to be honest. I didn’t really expect that to come.”

Olly continued: “But I don’t want to sit here like other artists might, and shine and gloss this up and say, ‘It was my decision’. I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to bulls**t my fans or bulls**t people who watch the show, and say, ‘Oh, it was an amicable decision to leave — I’ve got lots of things on next year, I can’t do it any more’.

“No. Genuinely, I accept their decision, and they’ll find someone great, I’m sure. But am I going to miss it? Yeah. Did I want to leave? No. Will I still watch the show? Of course, but it’ll be sore thinking that could have been me . . .”

Despite the news, the star wasn’t down for too long as he announced that he will be joining Take That on tour next year.

2024 will mark 15 years since Olly shot to fame on The X Factor. Despite finishing as runner-up, he’s gone on to become one of the country’s most successful male solo artists.

The performer has also had a busy summer as he officially tied the knot with bodybuilder Amelia Tank, 31, in a gorgeous ceremony on Osea Island in Essex.

Olly and Amelia have been together for four years and got engaged last July in a beach proposal.

The couple, who met at the gym in 2019, threw a three-day wedding event on the exclusive island – which they reportedly hired for more than £35,000 per night – complete with fairground rides and a music festival.

The island is owned by music producer Nigel Freida, who has worked with the likes of The Rolling Stones and Roxy music, and boasts an impressive 550 acres of "rustic gardens, orchards, meadows and salt marsh", according to their website.
