S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt says she became dependent on drugs and was sent to rehab after having a secret boob job: ‘There were times when I thought about ending it all’

Hannah Spearritt has revealed how a secret boob job in 2013 was the ‘worst mistake’ of her life.

The former S Club 7 singer, now 42, said she ‘didn’t recognise herself’ before having the surgery reversed in 2016.

In a new interview with The Sun, she detailed the symptoms she struggled with after undergoing surgery at a top Harley Street clinic.

Hannah, who paid £7,000 for the boob job, said: ‘I was put on so many different drugs. When I look back on that time, I just don’t recognise myself.

‘I was sleeping for hours at a time, or having panic attacks out of nowhere.’

‘My reality felt worse than a death sentence at times because I didn’t know if it would ever stop.

‘There were times when I thought about ending it all.’

Hanna became dependent on strong painkillers to ease the pain but was later sent to rehab.

Hannah revealed the reason she got a boob job was due to the pressure of pop fame.

S Club 7 shot to fame after releasing their anthem Bring It All Back in 1999. They went on to record four studio albums, release 11 singles and sell over 10 million albums worldwide.

The star admitted she constantly struggled with posing beside the other female band members ‘with their curves’ for lads magazines.

After going through the traumatic experience and having the surgery, Hannah is now fully confident in herself and her body.

She recently admitted she doesn’t know if she will ever sing with S Club again after quitting the reunion tour following Paul Cattermole ‘s death.

The singer, 42, left the newly-reunited band’s tour in May just weeks after her bandmate and ex-boyfriend Paul tragically died.

Paul was found dead at the age of 46 on April 6 at his home in Dorset, with no suspicious circumstances around his sudden death.

Now, Hannah has told how ‘everything’ changed for her after Paul’s death and gave her time to reflect on whether rejoining the band was the right thing to do.

She admitted she doesn’t know if she will ever rejoin S Club on stage again after leaving the newly-reunited band’s tour in May.

Hannah told The Sun: ‘Will I ever ­perform with them again? I just don’t know, I’m glad that the tour is still going ahead and the songs will live on, but now I’m looking ­forward, not backwards.’

She also revealed that she had been having ‘crippling panic attacks’ before quitting the tour as she spoke about how her health had been suffering at the time.

‘I hadn’t been in the best of health — I’ve got a compromised immune system and stress makes it worse,’ she went on.

‘My body just couldn’t cope with everything that was happening. I wasn’t myself, I was getting these crippling panic attacks, was suffering from really bad vertigo and was tired all the time.’

Hannah said her health was affecting her children – Tea, four, and Tora, two, who she shares with Adam Thomas – because she had no energy to do anything with them.

She explained that after Paul’s death, she realised she couldn’t rejoin S Club for the tour, admitting ‘it just didn’t feel right’.

Hannah apologised to S Club’s fans for not deciding to leave but said she had to do what was best for herself and her family.

Her bandmates Rachel Stevens, 45, Jon Lee, 41, Bradley McIntosh, 42, Jo O’Meara, 44, and Tina Barrett, 47, will be kicking off the S Club tour – which is dedicated to Paul – on October 12.

Hannah claimed she hasn’t been in touch with her former bandmates since she left the band, admitting she is sad not to be but insisted she wishes them ‘all the best’.

Looking towards the future, Hannah is now joining the line-up of Dancing On Ice and is gearing up for the release of her book Facing the Music next week.

Hannah stepped down from the tour earlier this year, with her bandmates confirming the news in a video where they also paid tribute to Paul after his death.
