Strictly Come Dancing's Claudia Winkleman has a new pup

EXCLUSIVE Strictly Come Dancing’s Claudia Winkleman has a new pup and guess what, it’s a King cha-cha-Charles!

She said she had bid farewell to Radio 2 to spend more time with her children.

But Claudia Winkleman appears to be doting on a furrier family member, in the form of a new puppy.

The Strictly Come Dancing presenter, 51, was seen walking a black and tan King Charles spaniel in Belgravia, central London.

She wore a dark puffer coat with Adidas trousers and Stan Smith trainers as she and her pet paid a visit to dog grooming salon Le Wag.

Ms Winkleman had made a public pet plea to film producer husband Kris Thykier during her Bafta award acceptance speech in May.

After thanking colleagues, she gestured to Thykier and said: ‘Thank you to my husband Kris. Please can we have a dog? That’s in brackets.’

Her cheeky request was met by laughter and cheers at London’s Royal Festival Hall.

The canine addition coincides with Ms Winkleman’s announcement last week that she will be quitting her BBC Radio 2 show in March after 15 years on air to spend more time with children Jake, 20, Matilda, 17 and Arthur, 11.

‘The truth is my children are growing up inordinately fast so I have decided to follow them around at home before they leave for good,’ she said at the time.

Tonight she will host the Strictly final, which will see Bobby Brazier, Ellie Leach and Layton Williams compete for the glitterball trophy.
