This Morning star breaks silence on split from husband – I knew I wasnt happy

As rumours surrounding the allegedly jeopardised future of This Morning continue to swirl, a regular star of the show has made a saddening announcement.

Trinny Woodall – fashion and makeover expert and ITV regular – has broken her silence on her tragic split from husband Charles Saatchi after 10 years of marriage.

The 59 year old much-loved entrepreneur – who continues to contribute on This Morning's fashion segments – has spoken out in an interview on their marriage breakdown, 18 months after she and Charles parted ways.

Speaking to MailOnline at a central London event yesterday, the fashion guru insisted she felt "very good" to be single again, but that the initial split was "difficult" to adjust to.

"I have been in a relationship for ten years, and whatever people choose to believe or read, I know I have been in love with the person I was in a relationship with, and I had good years in that relationship. But I also know that I got to a stage where I knew I was not happy in it. And that’s a very tough thing. Because a relationship becomes familiar. I got to a stage where I felt on my own."

Trinny added: "So then in the end it was about, ‘OK, I have the power to do what I want to do’. So I just then thought, ‘OK, I’m going to move on’. And it was difficult, because any change is difficult."

In March this year, she sparked concern that she and Charles had gone their separate ways after sharing an update with fans about a big "life change".

"It’s a new day, it’s a new dawn, it’s a new life," she captioned an Instagram post from her luxury ski chalet in France. "I have been moving but now I have moved. "I have looked out at this view for the last 30 years of my life. It’s the one consistent view I have ever had."

The same month, reports claimed the couple had split after struggling to acclimatise to their age gap, with businessman Charles being 80 years old.

And though she didn't go into detail regarding the reasons for their split, she claimed she's now "feeling good", whilst heaping praise onto her 19 year old daughter Lyla for supporting her during her "tough times recently", claiming she "likes to mother me".

"I've been through some tough times recently but I'm feeling good," Trinny admitted. "I've been through some tough times recently but I'm feeling good. Lyla likes to mother me."

Trinny shared Lyla with her late ex-husband Johnny Elichaoff, a drummer and wheeler dealer on Channel 4 show Four Rooms, who tragically passed away after committing suicide in 2014.

Speaking of their mother-daughter relationship, she said: "We are pretty close because she doesn’t have a dad. We know we only have each other, so we have to sort stuff out quicker after an argument. I had a car accident in LA recently – I’m OK, just a bit bruised."

Trinny claims that when she informed her daughter of her car collision "she went from zero to hysterical in two seconds", and says that the incident made "our relationship stronger".
