Zara McDermott celebrates in London as boyfriend Sam Thompson is named Im A Celebrity winner
Zara McDermott was seen celebrating in London as her boyfriend Sam Thompson was crowned the winner of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2023.
Due to previous work commitments, Zara, 26, didn't fly out to Australia to meet Sam, 31, at the end of the famous I'm A Celeb bridge, with his best pal, former TOWIE star Pete Wicks, 35, going in her place.
But Zara was ever the supportive girlfriend, as she threw a massive jungle-themed viewing party at the London home she shares with Sam, where she was joined by their friends and family.
One of Zara's pals captured the moment the party guests found out that Sam had been crowned King of the Jungle, as Zara shared the video to her Instagram page, moments after it happened.
She and the party guests could be seen with their hands over their mouths and crossing their fingers as they waited to hear if Sam had beaten Tony Bellew to win the show.
As Ant announced that Sam had indeed won, the room at Zara's house erupted with cheer, as everyone hugged in jubilation.
She jumped up to hug Sam's mum, and then hilariously put her hands to her face and screamed, as a friend filmed her.
Zara captioned the post: "The moment we all found out… OUR KING OF THE JUNGLE!!!!!!!"
She and Sam's celebrity pals flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages, with Stacey Solomon writing: "Yaaaaaaaaay," whilst This Morning's Alison Hammond said: "Golden moment," and Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause commented: "Congrats!!"
Over in Australia, a joyous Sam was greeted after leaving the camp by his best pal and biggest supporter, TOWIE star Pete Wicks, with the two embracing as they faced the cameras.
After Ant and Dec announced Sam as the winner, he said: "I'm really overwhelmed, I didn't even think I was going to be invited onto the show. I'm so grateful, thank you so much. I’ve dreamt of doing this show for years and years and you made this boy’s dream come true."
He was crowned by fellow contestant Josie Gibson, who told him: “I’m so proud of you.” Asked how it felt, he then yelled: “It feels amazing!”
Fans were quick to react to Sam's win, with one writing: "SAM’S THE KING OF THE JUNGLE!!!! MOST DESERVING WINNER EVER!!! #ImACeleb."
"Sam has got to be one of the most worthy winners that I’m a celeb has ever had, truly wholesome content this year #ImACeleb," added a second.
And a third penned: "Thank you Great Britain for embracing someone who is different but someone who is also brilliant! Sam Thompson deservedly is the King of the Jungle. #ImACelebrityGetMeOutOfHere #ImACelebrity #ImACeleb."
