BEAMS Reveals Gore-Tex Enabled New Balance 996 Collab

Tokyo, Japan-based BEAMS has revealed its latest collaboration with New Balance, this time expressed through the 996 silhouette, equipped with weather-ready Gore-Tex and dressed in earthy fall colors.

The latest pair, for the two collaborators who have been working together since 2009, features a fun departure from uniformity, with panels on the left and right shoes being mismatched or contrasting by design. On the right side, the shoe features a brown mesh upper with panels of primarily green and tan suede.

As for the left pair, it features a tan mesh upper, with panels of brown and green suede. New Balance’s signature “N” logos are also contrasting on either shoe, with the left featuring green leather and the right tan — the pair’s liners are also contrasting. Other notable design elements include a touch of dark navy blue at the heel with the “NB” logo printed in green.

The shoe sits on top of a chunky tan C-CAP midsole, New Balance’s compression-molded EVA designed to enhance cushioning and flexibility. While the price for the BEAMS x New Balance 996 has yet to be announced, the Tokyo-based retailer has shared that it plans to drop the pair via its official site this Saturday, November 18.
