Oakley and Brain Dead Look to the Future With New Collab

With Oakley, the attention to functional, yet stylish outdoor-oriented apparel and gear remains paramount. But it’s never a bad idea to bring another brand into the fold to add a touch of edge. Well, that is exactly what Oakley did with its new collaboration by enlisting the help of Kyle Ng’s Los Angeles-based brand, Brain Dead.

Marking the Oakley Factory Team’s second drop for the Fall/Winter 2023 season, the collaboration tosses up both eyewear and footwear. Leading the charge are two eyewear models. First up is the Sub Zero, which made its debut in 1992 as an extremely limited offering. Now the frames have returned with a red and blue color shift paint treatment, allowing for a multidimensional style and futuristic touch. The frames are then finished off with a Prizm Ruby lens tech, silver satin logo branding and the Brain Dead logo over the right eyebrow. Next up is the Eye Jacket frame, which also includes a color-shifting paint job with hues of red and blue alongside Prizm Ruby lenses.

On to footwear, the collaboration sees Oakley’s signature Paguro slides, which appear in dark mode. The crustacean-inspired silhouettes feature an Ethylene Vinyl Acetate structure for comfort with a Thermoplastic Polyurethane insert for support and durability. The slides are then washed in shades of Blackberry/Evening and Black/Ink.

Take a look at the new offering in the gallery above. The new Oakley x Brain Dead collaboration is set to release on November 7 in-store at Brain Dead, online at Brain Dead and online at Oakley.
