OMEGA Releases a New Seamaster Planet Ocean in Dark Grey

In broadening OMEGA’s iconic Seamaster collection, the watch brand releases a brand-new model with the name Planet Ocean 600M Dark Grey.

As suggested in its name, the new reference is dressed in varying gray hues from dial, case, to strap. One of the main talking points of this piece is that it’s crafted in silicon nitride ceramic (Si3N4), making it the first OMEGA timepiece to utilize the material for watchmaking of such scale. Owing its lightweight to its case material, the timepiece not only wears comfortably on the wrist but is also incredibly robust.

The 45.5mm wide reference is paired with a titanium bezel to highlight its sand-blasted dial. While the handset and indices are doused in an anthracite hue, both are filled with Super-LumiNova that illuminates the watch face in the dark. This is complemented by a gray strap with a woven look where its lining boasts a textured rubber fabrication.

Viewable from the open caseback is OMEGA’s in-house Master Chronometer-certified 8906Ti caliber that’s also made of titanium. Fitted with 39 jewels Co-AXIAL escapement and GMT function, the movement is also antimagnetic of up to 15,000 gauss. Living up to its name, the reference is capable of withstanding up to 600m underwater, complete with a 60-hour power reserve.

The Seamaster Planet Ocean Dark Grey has a price point of $22,200 USD and is now open for inquiry via OMEGA’s official boutiques and website.
