Phoebe Philo’s Eponymous Label Is Flying off the Shelves
It was just yesterday when one of fashion’s coveted contemporary designers, Phoebe Philo, returned after six years. Unsurprisingly, the designer’s debut collection under her new venture is flying off the digital shelves – with more than half of the items selling out within 24 hours.
This past June, it was officially announced that Philo was returning with an eponymous label. The label’s official launch date of October 30 was confirmed at the top of this month – leaving her cult-like following eagerly awaiting her new crop of luxe minimalist designs. Heading over to the website, you’ll find that items including a hand-combed embroidered sliced skirt, scarf top, club loafer, high neck jumper, gig bag, asymmetric tailored top, jacket with attachable scarf, high-neck chenille sweatshirt top, mum necklace and more are all sold out.
Items still available include the cargo jacket, man’s coat, hand-combed embroidered dress, tailored column dress, structured shoulder tailored jacket, jodphur boot, hand-combed embroidered tailored trousers, zip dress and more. The bulk of the collection selling out so quickly attests to Philo’s sustained popularity alongside the success of revealing and releasing the collection simultaneously.
Following the first drop, Philo is set to release future “edits” on her own schedule. Head over to the brand’s website to check out what’s left.
In other news, South African designer Lukhanyo Mdingi won the 2023 AMIRI Prize.
