PinkPantheress Expands Her Sound With New Track “Mosquito”
With the arrival of fall, it’s the perfect time for contemplative dreamy pop music, which is something that British sensation PinkPantheress understands so well. To her fans’ delight, today the artist released a new song entitled “Mosquito.”
Although elements of the song were teased previously via TikTok, the official track surprises us yet again as it builds upon the nuggets of teased sounds. But what’s exciting about the new track is that it showcases a sonic style for the artist as he vocals dance over a drum and bass beat with a lighthearted R&B sound. “After a long wait my favorite song is coming out to the public, I’m so excited for you guys to hear something different from me in the form of this song,” said PinkPantheress.
In the song, the Bath, United Kingdom-born artist contemplates the relationship between material items and money. Specifically, it details how the items can seemingly separate one from a love interest. “Cause I just had a dream I was dead/And I only cared ’cause I was taken from you/You’re the only thing that I own/I hear my bell ring, I’d only answer for you,” sings PinkPantheress in the song’s chorus.
To bring the track to life, the accompanying video shows PinkPantheress and friends Yara Shahidi, Charithra Chandran and India Amarteifio voyaging on a shopping spree in London – venturing across Tiffany & Co., Fendi, Royal Arcade and more.
