Shoe Palace Celebrates Its 30 Year Anniversary with Oakley Collaboration

Shoe Palace and Oakley, both originating from California, have teamed up to celebrate Bay Area history — including 30 years of Shoe Palace and the 1989 World Series battle between Oakland and San Francisco.

Inspired by the iconic game, Shoe Palace has reached into Oakley’s archive and selected its Mumbo or “M frame” for the base layer of its collab, a silhouette that was first released the very same year as the 1989 World Series. Dubbed “The Bridge,” this limited-edition offering includes two Prizm Lens options, Prizm Ruby and Prizm Jade, representing the two sides of the Bay Area.

As for the bridge or frame, it comes available in a dark or light grey camo, signifying the convergence of sport and culture, as the pair was first adopted and made popular by surfers in the area before going mainstream in the sports realm. Shoe Palace shared that the Oakley Mumbo perfectly captures the style of the era they were forged in and embodies the excellence of the athletes who have sported them since.

Retail pricing for Oakley and Shoe Palace’s “The Bridge” has yet to be announced at the time of writing, however, the retailer did share that an exclusive launch will take place at its Fashion Show location in Las Vegas and its store in San Joseโ€™s Valley Fair. Additionally, limited quantities are expected to drop on Shoe Palace’s official site starting September 22.
