Tatsuki Fojimoto's 'Chainsaw Man' Manga Is Being Adapted Into a Movie

Chainsaw Man has become a fan-favorite in the manga community since it launched in 2018. Written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto and serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump, the manga is separated into two main arcs – the second of which is still being published.

The manga follows a man named Denji who signs a deal with a devil named Pochita, allowing him to transform his limbs into chainsaws. With his new abilities, he joins an agency called the Public Safety Devil Hunters and starts a new career fighting the devils that plague Japan.

In October 2022, nearly four years since it premiered, the anime studio MAPPA adapted Chainsaw Man for television. The series premiered on Crunchyroll but rather than being renewed for a second season, as some fans anticipated, Chainsaw Man will be adapted into a film.

The forthcoming movie is called Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc and will center on the titular character voiced by Reina Ueda. Reze made her appearance at the tail end of the series, a Bomb Devil sent to Japan by the Soviet Union on a mission to steal Denji’s heart. While seemingly innocent, she was trained in a military school from a young age and conceals her true form by wearing human clothing.

A premiere date for Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc has yet to be revealed. Stream the teaser trailer for the film above.
