Texture and Tone Inform the BAPE BLACK FW23 Collection

BAPE BLACK โ€” the high-end sub-label of BAPE โ€” has debuted its FW23 collection, a concise collection of elevated takes on staple BAPE pieces. Whereas in-line BAPE tends to be heavily logo-driven and adorned with wild graphic treatments, BAPE BLACK views its inspirations through a different lens, retaining the boldness of the main line while communicating through upgraded materials and alternate prints/patterns.

Those prints and patterns are on full display in the FW23 collection, which offers a melange of fleece, knits and even suiting. The famous Ape Head logo is reworked into a more sinister, The Lion King-esque embellishment, which is present on a multi-colored half-zip sherpa fleece with a mountain-and-stream pattern that wouldn’t be out of place in Japan’s Holy Mountains, and a square-covered sweater with pixilated wordmarks. The aforementioned mountain graphic also appears on a knit sweater, and the revealed pieces are rounded off by a duo of more low-key offerings, namely a thick black cable knit sweater and a brown corduroy suit.

Expect these items and others from the BAPE BLACK FW23 collection to touch down on the BAPE webstore and select global stockists November 18. Retail prices have yet to be announced.
