Cleaning guru's hack to clear sink blockages in minutes – without plumber

It's common for sinks to get clogged up every now and then.

But next time it happens, resist the urge to splash out on expensive products to clear blockages.

Cleaning guru Ewan Carrington shared a simple way to solve the problem.

During an episode of Sort Your Life Out, Stacey Solomon's BBC One show, the housework whiz revealed you don't even need to call a handyman in.

He said: "Often, with blocked sinks, the first thing you might think is calling out a plumber.

"But this can actually be a really easy task you can do yourself, quite simply."

To banish blockages, he recommends "gently prizing off" the U-bend of your sink.

You can then pull out any gunk caught up in the tube.

Demonstrating the chore, he explained: "This is a combination of hair and soap."

Next, it's time to "give [the U-bend] a good scrub" with a toothbrush to get into every nook and cranny.

Then simply place the U-bend back in position and tighten it up again.

Ewan added: "Now look how quick that water is draining!"
