From Krispy Kreme to Hotel Chocolat: TikTok couple reveal shops and restaurants that offer you freebies on your birthday

If there’s any day of the year to treat yourself to goodies – it’s your birthday.

A TikTok couple, who live in Bromley, South London have revealed a long list of restaurants and shops that offer freebies on the day you blow out your candles. 

The video by Hiren and Maggie, who go by @insideourrelationship on TikTok, has been seen by more than 3.5 million people, with over 2,000 comments.

The pair started off at Krispy Kreme, where they bagged a free birthday doughnut. 

Maggie told viewers: ‘We went for the Lotus Biscoff one and it was stunning’.

Moving on, Hiren explained next up on their list was Hotel Chocolat and you get a £5 birthday discount there.

He explained: ‘The closest thing we could find were some £6.50 salted caramel puddles’.

So, although it wasn’t completely free, the couple did get some luxury sweet treats just for just £1.50. 

They continued: ‘Then we went to the Body Shop where you also get £5 off so we chose something for £6 and only paid £1 for it’.

Opting for chamomile body butter, they then moved onto restaurants.

Hiren told followers: ‘This one I actually couldn’t believe you get for free, it’s from Tortilla and you get a fat old wrap – it was actually awesome’.

Maggie chimed in: ‘Yeah this was so nice and so filling’.

The wraps usually cost around £6, so this was savvy discount.

Next, the TikTokers made their way over to Boost, where they told their followers you can get any drink that you want – they went for a ‘protein berry drink’.

Boost juices usually cost between £6-7 but because of the birthday discount, they didn’t need to spend a penny.   

Maggie said: ‘We did drink this one but a lot of the other stuff we did actually give to homeless people because there was just so much of it and we didn’t need it all’.

Adding: ‘Next up was Chopstix where they give you a free noodle or rice box for absolutely free’.

A noodle box with two toppings from the Chinese restaurant would usually set you back £8.99. 

They continued: ‘We’re still going guys, next up we have Greggs and if you’re walking out of Greggs without getting a vegan sausage roll have you even been to Greggs?

‘Lastly we got a sweet treat from Costa but there’s so many other brands that do this for your birthday’.

In total, the lucky couple scooped up a long list of treats, spending just £2.50 thanks to the birthday discounts and freebies.

Commenters were shocked by the amount you can get and vowed to try it for themselves.

One user wrote: ‘I’m doing this on mine gotta[sic] wait till the end of year nearly but I’ll remember. Thanks for the info[sic]’.

Others added: ‘we should go everywhere’ and ‘birthday next month. Freebies here I come’.

Someone questioned: ‘Do you just go up to them and say it’s your birthday or do you wear a badge or something?’

The couple responded: ‘You have to sign up to their newsletters to get the free goodies to prove it’s your bday’.
