A woman has revealed a ‘genius’ method of figuring out if one of your friends secretly hates you – but it only works on other women.

It’s usually easy to tell when someone dislikes you – they minimise your accomplishments, inflate your bad qualities, and are often just rude to your face.

But Jaci Marie Smith, from the US, has uncovered a niche way of discovering when someone is a fox in a henhouse.

She shared that foe in disguise will often give you advice that seems harmless on the surface but hurts you in the long term.

For example, Jaci has beautiful long hair and spends hours a week on its upkeep – which is why she was shocked when someone told her to consider getting a dramatic haircut.

What are the signs your friend secretly hates you?

* They tell you to cut your long beautiful hair into a bob or a pixie cut

* They never like any of your posts on social media

* They post ugly photos of you online

* They tell you to dye your hair an unflattering shade

*  They encourage you to wear buy clothes that don’t suit you

Jaci shared a video explaining her theory.

‘This is how to find out if someone hates you,’ she said.

‘If you have really long, beautiful hair – just bring up a scenario where you say: ‘I kind of want to cut my hair, should I cut my hair?’

‘If they say: ‘Yes, yes, oh my god – chop it. It would look so good on you!’ then they hate you and are praying on your downfall.

‘If you need further confirmation – ask if you should get bangs. If they say yes, cut them out of your life.’

While Jaci said that her theory was based in humour – many women resonated with her revelation.

‘I figured out one of my ‘friends’ hated me when I realised she never liked or commented on any of my Instagram posts,’ one shared.

‘Another thing is if they post photos of you where they look good but you look bad,’ a woman said. ‘It means they’re bothered if attention is on you.’

‘You can also tell if they hate you when you have golden blonde hair and they tell you to go brunette – or you have dark hair and they tell you to bleach it,’ another added.

‘I really wasn’t sure how one girl in my friend group felt about me, so I sent her two options of photos I could post on Instagram,’ a woman shared. ‘And she picked the objectively worse one!’

While others said it was ‘overreacting’ to think someone hates you because they want you to cut your hair.

‘I genuinely love short hair,’ one woman said. ‘It’s just hair – it grows back! Change and experimentation is healthy.’

‘I tell all my friends to cut their hair because it’s so chic,’ another added.

‘Many people look better with short hair – and if your hair is beautiful, the length shouldn’t matter,’ a third wrote.
