Zoe Ball has revealed that firefighters rushed to her home after she accidentally left a candle burning in the empty property.
The former Strictly: It Takes Two presenter, 52, shared the terrifying news with fans on her Radio 2 Breakfast Show on Tuesday (October 3) morning. She told listeners: "said: "Something that happened to me for the first time was that yesterday, the fire brigade went to my house.
"I had left a candle burning in the lounge. I was so obsessed with The Matrix and the fact that I had made a cake on Sunday, I had gone out and hadn't blown out one of the candles. It was left smouldering in the lounge and at 9.25am my smoke alarms went off and thank goodness! Otherwise I might have gone home to no home!

"Thank you to my neighbour Abs and my gorgeous Em who called the fire brigade and I'd like to give a big shout out to Duncan and the Uckfield boys, Joe and Cameron and Steve, who went around, put out the candle and stopped my house from burning down."
Zoe's shock confession during a segment in which listeners were revealing things that had happened to them for the first time. East Sussex Fire and Rescue said they were called to a fire at 9.28am on Monday (October 2).
In May this year it was reported that Zoe split from her long-term partner Micheal Reed after five and a half years together. It's believed the relationship had "run its course" and that model Micheal has since moved out of their shared home in East Sussex.
An insider allegedly close to Zoe said at the time that the broadcaster is "gutted" but is better off without him. A source told The Sun: "Zoe is gutted but she’s better off without Michael. This is a relief to many of her friends, who think she has done the right thing.
"They were arguing over really silly things like Zoe spending time on the phone to her friends and it all got a bit too much for her." They added that Michael started to become "demanding" and the pair began to spend a lot less time together.

The insider finished off by stating that Zoe asked Michael to move out of their home and they hope the radio DJ will find the "happiness she deserves" despite ending on good terms with Michael. She was previously married to DJ Norman 'Fatboy Slim' Cook from 1999 to 2016.
The pair share two children together Nelly May Lois Cook and Woody Cook who has previously starred alongside his mum Zoe on Channel 4's Celebrity Gogglebox. Woody is currently following in his father's footsteps by pursuing a career in DJing.
