Gladiators star Rhino has undergone a weight transformation ahead of his boxing match tonight.

The 54-year-old, whose real name is Mark Smith, shot to fame back in 1995 when he became Rhino on the gruelling ITV series, which ran from 1992 until 2000. After its cancellation, the bodybuilder turned his talents to both acting and boxing.

Now, Mark is stepping back inside the ring with one of the UK's "biggest political influencers" Adam Brooks for Misfits Boxing event on Friday (November 17). The lead up to the fight was far from easy as Mark revealed he was forced to drop his weight to the lightest it has been since he was 17.

He exclusively told Daily Star: "They said I had to come down to 173lbs, which is the lightest I've been since I was 17 years old." Explaining how he's managed to reduce his weight, Mark continued: "I've done it bit by bit.

"I don't eat too bad anyway but I just cleaned up my diet a bit more. I also increased the cardio and running and I was 172.2lbs yesterday." The former Gladiator is known for having an extremely muscular physique, and while he is still incredibly ripped, he is world's away from what he's been in the past.

He said: "I've been up to 284lbs in bodybuilding which is more than 20 stone. So I've slowly come down for Gladiators and for boxing." The Angel Has Fallen star is more than ready to step into the ring at York Hall and admitted there's a sense of relief now that the day has finally arrived. "I'm feeling good. There's a sense of relief, I woke up today and thought, 'Finally it's here now' because every night you're counting down the days.

"I'll take on all the experience I have from different sports, Gladiators, bodybuilding and marathons. It's mental, all the work and preparation is for tonight. He added: "My boxing experience isn't bad. We both have experience so it'll be a good fight." Mark passed on his thanks to Misfits and British promoter Mams Taylor as well as DAZN boxing for allowing him to take part in the fight.
