Gavin Plumb appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court to issue his plea of not guilty on Friday, November 3.

Plumb spoke only to confirm his details and enter his plea. The court date was agreed after he was charged over an alleged plot to kidnap and murder ex This Morning host Holly Willoughby. Last month he spoke at court only to confirm his name and address.

He was remanded in custody to appear at court on November 3. Holly was made aware of the alleged plot moments before she was due to host This Morning on October 5.

She pulled out of hosting the show and her co-star stepped in for her – days later, Holly confirmed she wouldn't be returning. Since the news of the alleged plot, Holly has stayed silent online, only posting to confirm her exit from the ITV show.

On October 10, five days after Holly was made aware of the alleged plot, she wrote on Instagram: "I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning. To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so much.

"This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we have done together. Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive."

Holly again thanked the fans for their loyalty and support over the years, but said the decision she made was for her and her family. She ended the statement with: "I will miss you all so much."

Immediately Holly was hit with support from fans and co-stars as Alison Hammond wrote: "This is a very sad day. Love you." While Dermot O'Leary added: "Nothing but respect for you and yours."

After Holly's exit, This Morning bosses paid tribute to her with a sweet opening sequence. One part saw the words "end of an era" sprawled across the screen.

Another part was pictures of Holly along with the words "goodbye Holly" as hosts Craig Doyle and Rochelle Humes confirmed once again that she would not be returning. Holly's next steps in terms of her career are yet to be confirmed as she takes an extended break away from the spotlight.

Her company Wylde Moon has not sent a newsletter since her exit, and her usual hosting gig on Dancing on Ice remains up in the air ahead of the 2024 series.
