Jessie J says she’s ‘unemployed’ as she quits music deal to be full-time mother
Jessie J has admitted that she is "unemployed" after quitting her record deal in order to focus on being a mum.
The talented singer-songwriter had been with huge record label Republic Records for 17 years, but has revealed she had stepped away. She thanked company big-wigs in a statement she said she was advised to make by her lawyer.
Speaking on Instagram, Jessie, 35, said: "My lawyer said that I need to make a statement about the decision that I have made. I don't want it to feel like a huge, big thing.

"After 17 years I have decided to leave Republic Records. I was about six months pregnant when I made this decision.
"Monte and Avery Lipman, and Jason Flomm have been so gracious and kind in supporting my decision and letting me go," she went on. "It's been the most amazing high and low ride of my life.
"I just feel so grateful to have been signed to the best record label in the world. I have to just be honest with who I am and what I want from my career now."
Jessie, known for tracks like Price Tag and Domino, went on: "There's no negative spin. It's not dramatic. I just didn't feel right being signed and it hasn't for years. So, I need to stop just trusting my instincts and ask for them… so now I am unemployed.
"I am not in the process of doing all the legalities and sorting out the music so I can put out new music and do it my way. On my time and my terms. Now I have had a baby there is just no stopping me," she said.
Jessie, who welcomed son Sky earlier this year with basketball player Chanan Safir Colman, added: "Something happens when you have a baby and just start giving zero f***s. But there is nothing but good vibes."
The British singer, born Jessica Cornish, had a huge career in the early 2010s and went on to be a judge on The Voice. However she hasn't seen the same success recently, and her last 10 singles failed to chart.
