Rolling Stones new album Hackney Diamonds with Charlie Watts release and single
Jagger and Richards honoured for Rolling Stones achievements
It’s been 18 years since The Rolling Stones last released a studio album and it turns out the band have had something cooking.
Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood met Jimmy Fallon and an audience of fans at the Hackney Empire this afternoon to announce their new record Hackney Diamonds, set for release on October 20.
Named after the broken glass from a cracked windshield, the album features late drummer Charlie Watts on two tracks recorded in 2019 called Live By The Sword and Mess It Up.
Hackney Diamonds came together pretty quickly according to the rock trio in the live stream today.
And Sir Mick teased that it features a mixture of love songs, ballads, country and gospel throughout.

The Rolling Stones lost Charlie Watts in 2021, but the drummer gave his blessing for Steve Jordan to replace him if anything happened to him.
As a result, Jordan plays drums on 10 of 12 of the tracks on the upcoming new album. Here’s hoping a 2024 tour will be announced too.
Hackney Diamonds is out October 20, 2023 and you can pre-order the Rolling Stones’ new album here.
