Sharon Osbourne says dad kicked her down stairs in heartbreaking confession
Sharon Osbourne has revealed that she was punched in the ribs and kicked down the stairs by her late father, Don Arden.
The X Factor legend, 71, is the daughter of Arden who had once worked together with Sharon's husband Ozzy Osbourne. During the time, Don had managed Ozzy himself, as well as his world-renowned band Black Sabbath.
Don passed away in 2007, with Sharon patching things together with her dad by the end of his life. Despite vowing to never speak to him again, Sharon helped to pay for Don's palliative care and his funeral – though she did not attend his burial.

Icon Sharon, who also starred in the Osbourne's own reality show, has previously explained she had lived a violent childhood at the hands of her dad Don. She revealed that while she was traumatised by the anger, saying: "I wouldn't say I was abused and beaten – in those days it was a normal thing."
Now, looking back at her past together with children Jack and Kelly on their podcast, Sharon recalled a terrifying moment when Don became physically abusive. The story left the family shocked at what had been done to her.
A fan of The Osbournes podcast sent in a question asking Sharon's kids whether they would allow their own children to grow up in the spotlight – like how they did. This would include time being on-screen and travelling extensively to promote shows and work together as a family.
Responding to the question, both Jack and Kelly said they would allow their children to have the limelight, but with "a little more parameters". Dad Ozzy chipped in, saying: "I don't know if that's the right way or the wrong way. We were open, we always tried to have a relationship with you guys."
The conversation soon turned dark when Sharon reflected on growing up under the spotlight of her father's fame, saying that she would regularly be beaten. "I'd get boxed around the head," she said as Ozzy added: "He was throwing you down the f***ing stairs."
She also alluded to other instances of violence, including being "punched in the ribs" and "kicked down the stairs". However, soon after revealing this, Sharon was quick to move on with the conversation, dismissing her experiences with a simple "anyway".
Whilst starring on psychological TV show Shrink Rap in 2007, Sharon opened up on her experiences of violence in the home, saying she had been "surrounded by violent people" as she grew up. "There was nothing unusual seeing my dad threatening someone, or brandishing a firearm," she admitted.
"It seemed normal. I thought everybody was like this – it was a part of our lives," she explained to psychologist Pamela Connolly.
Osbourne went on to say her dad had a "temper" and would regularly "whack" her or "yank" her hair. However, Sharon would again dismiss what happened, saying that what she went through was typical parenting of the time.
Since then, Sharon has kept herself close with hubby Ozzy and their kids as they worked through family dramas on their hit reality show. The group now regularly come together to have a weekly chat on their podcast.
