Anna Kendrick Skips TIFF World Premiere Of Her Feature Directorial Debut ‘Woman Of The Hour’ Out Of Solidarity With Actors
Due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, Anna Kendrick couldn’t make it to Friday’s TIFF world premiere of her feature directorial debut, Woman of the Hour.
The film did not have a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement. Kendrick also stars in the movie, which follows Rodney Alcala (Daniel Zovatto), a killer in the midst of a killing spree when he brazenly took part and won a date on the popular TV game show The Dating Game. In the pic, Kendrick plays bachelorette Cheryl Bradshaw, who appears on the dating show.

“I truly can’t express how proud I am to have the world premiere of Woman of the Hour at TIFF. It is more than a dream come true. I am heartbroken to not be with you all in this moment.”
Kendrick added, “I so wish they could be there to be celebrated in the way they richly deserve. As proud as we are of this film, we are equally proud to stand with our union in demanding fair wages.”
The actress called the world premiere of her feature directorial debut the “proudest moment of my career”
“I’m grateful to every single person who gave their energy to making this film,” she added. “And I’m so excited for an audience to see their hard work on the big screen.”
