Bake Off fix row as contestant is accused of ‘faking illness’ to stay on show – leaving fans furious | The Sun

BAKE Off has become embroiled in a fresh fix row with fans accusing a star of "faking illness" to stay in the series.

The hit Channel 4 show aired one day later than usual, on a Wednesday instead of a Tuesday this week, yet that wasn't the only thing that left fans irked.

During the latest Bake Off instalment Tasha, 27 – who is the show's first deaf contestant – was rushed out after complaining: "It's quite hot, I need some air,"

Tasha was then seen speaking to crew outside, where she confessed to suffering from a migraine the night before.

Producers decided to allow Tasha to go home to recover – meaning she and all the other budding bakers swerved an eviction.

Fans seemed to suspect foul play on Tasha's belhalf, particularly after her first offering had been less than perfect.

BAKED OFF

This is who has left Bake Off 2023 so far

One took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to write: "I’d be ill too if I messed up my first bake and then screwed up my second one."

A second put: "So Tasha skips a week … I think once your ill, sadly you should be gone."

A third quipped: "I'm having a disaster, no worries I'll give myself a pass to the next week by feeling “ill”."

Yet one was happy to see the contestant stay, and put: "It’s always so complicated when someone goes home ill but I’m glad Tash will be back next week."

Another added: "Is @BritishBakeOff about the best baker? Or the best baker in unnatural baking environments?

"If the former, why don't they have AC, or at least fans, especially if contestants are going to get ill? Why?"

Revealing the big show change, presenter Alison Hammond told the bakers: "The baker leaving the tent today is… None of you. You're all staying"

The shocked stars were thrilled by the twist, before Alison delivered some worrying news.

"However, next week two bakers will leave the tent."

Prior to her stint on screen, Bristol-based Tasha was described as a "fearless" baker.

Producers told how she uses baking "as a way to express herself creatively, often embarking upon near-impossible designs."

Earlier in the series, Tasha scooped one of judge Paul Hollywood's infamous golden handshakes for a marshmallow creation.
