Danniella Westbrook slammed for defending Russell Brand after sex allegations
Danniella Westbrook has been slammed for coming to Russell Brand’s defence following allegations of rape, sexual assault and controlling behaviour made against the TV comedian.
The allegations from four women date back to the height of his fame between 2006 and 2013.
Brand, 48, who was the subject of Channel 4 and The Times’ Dispatches episode on Saturday night, denies the allegations and, in a video posted online on Friday night, he said that while he was ‘promiscuous’, all of his relationships have been ‘consensual’.
EastEnders star Danniella commented under said video, coming to Brand’s defence to say that it’s ‘disgusting’ what is ‘being said’ about him, branding the Get Him To The Greek actor a ‘kind’ person.
‘Its disgusting what’s being said about you,’ the former Sam Mitchell actress wrote on the social media platform.
‘Never in my life have I met a more helpful kind and funny person. Because you speak the truth and question agendas of certain things doesn’t make you a target to be lied about .

‘There is clear footage out there to show how he has portrayed HIMSELF.
Why can’t that be enough not to be accept his behaviour. I’m shocked you’re here in support of him.

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Daniella’s reps for comment.
Danniella is best known for her portrayal of Sam Mitchell in EastEnders. She joined the long-running soap in 1990 and would appear regularly for a decade before departing 2000.
Sam was written out of the show, and when she returned in 2002, it was actress Kim Medcalf who played her.
Danniella would go on to reprise the role in 2009, as Sam made a memorable comeback, with the star’s final appearance coming in 2016 at Peggy’s funeral.
In more recent years, Kim has taken over as Sam once again and she is set to return to EastEnders as the iconic Mitchell sister in the coming months.
