EastEnders’ Bobby Brazier return date confirmed — and fans will not be happy

EastEnders fans reckon they know when Bobby Brazier will be returning to Albert Square – and he could be bringing back an iconic character.

The soap newbie, 20, joined the cast in 2022 playing Freddie Slater and recently picked up a National Television Award for Rising Star. However, during Thursday’s episode (October 5), Bobby exited the soap in emotional scenes.

As fans will remember, Freddie was arrested, and later released on bail, for attempted murder. Following an argument with his rapist dad Graham Foster (Alex McSweeney), Freddie walked in on stalker Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis) attempting to rape Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).

Seeing red, Freddie beat Theo with an iron in defence of Stacey, leaving the bad guy unconscious and in a pool of his own blood. With the help of Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) the trio then came up with a plan that involved making Freddie’s attack look more like self-defence by planting a weapon on Theo’s body.

After calling the ambulance, the cops swiftly arrived. However, despite the attempts to make him look innocent Freddie was arrested for attempted murder. Fortunately for him, he was released on bail during Thursday’s episode (October 5).

Once he returned home, his nan Jean (Gillian Wright) suggested he should go and spend time with his mum Little Mo (Kacey Ainsworth) for a while. Although hesitant at first, Freddie agreed.

In emotional scenes at the end of the episode, he hugged his family and friends before jumping into a taxi to go see his mum. But now fans are certain they know when he will return.

Although sad to see him go, viewers rushed over to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their thoughts on when Bobby could be back on screens – and they might be waiting a while. One fan mused: “Depending on how far he gets in strictly Bobby will be back on square filming in jan.”

Echoing their thoughts, a second said: “Bobby will prob start filming again in December so back by February on screen it will come to light that it was self-defense.” A third quipped: “It will give him a few months to be Strictly and be back by Christmas.”

What’s more, other fans reckon Bobby will be bringing back none other than his mum Little Mo to the square. Soap fans will know that Mo hasn't been seen in Albert Square since 2006.

On X, one viewer wrote: “I really hope little mo returns with Freddie when he comes back.” A second added: “Well that's Freddie written out while he does Strictly… I still think having Little Mo back, even for just one episode, would complete this storyline.”

A third chimed in and mused: “Little Mo just has to come back now.” A fourth penned: “Please bring little mo back to the square.”

Daily Star also quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent “creative” tools Bard AI to see when Bobby could return to the soap. The program said: “It is expected to be early 2024. This is based on the fact that he is competing in the 2023 series of Strictly Come Dancing, which is expected to run until December 2023.”

What's more, according to the system, EastEnders' executive producer Chris Clenshaw has said that Freddie's exit is "not the end" for the character. He also noted that he will have "some exciting storylines" when he returns.
