EastEnders fans in stitches as Gina Knight floors Ian Beale with single punch
Just one week after returning to Albert Square, Walford legend Ian Beale was already stirring up trouble as he tried to protect his son Bobby from falling in love with the wrong girl.
As regular fans will know, Bobby has been smitten with Anna Knight in recent weeks, but unfortunately for him, she had slept with his best friend Freddie Slater after discovering they had chemistry together.
Wrestling with his guilt about whether to tell Bobby the truth, Freddie and Anna decided they needed to be honest with him – but just as they were about to come clean, Ian did the talking for them on tonight's episode, Thursday, 7 September.
Maliciously telling Bobby he could do better in front of the entire Queen Vic, the protective dad soon alleged that Freddie and Anna had been “at it like rabbits” right under Bobby’s nose.
Yet rather than Bobby being the one to lash out, retaliation instead came in the form of Anna’s sister Gina, who promptly floored Ian with a single punch for the way he was speaking about her sister.
Ordering him to “keep Anna’s name out of his mouth,” Gina viciously and without mercy looked down on her mum’s current partner as he lay shocked on the floor, before turning her attention towards Anna to make sure she was alright.
As the incident unfolded several famous EastEnders faces couldn’t help but be amused by the situation, with Phil Mitchell in particular laughing at his rival’s misfortune.
Fans at home were also loving the exchange, with several even likening Gina’s fighting to her famous boxer dad George Knight!
Taking to social media to share their thoughts on the development, one fan wrote: "Omg the way Gina punched Ian was gold lol he absolutely deserved it"
A second fan then added: "Ian getting punched! Well suppose that’s better than having your head flushed in the toilet"
Before a third commented: "YES GINA!!!!!! Love her even more now for punching Ian. He bloody deserved it!!!!"
A fourth viewer then weighed in by writing:"Ian’s certainly making some enemies. Odds on he’s the Christmas corpse. Adam Woodyatt wants to leave with the biggest storyline, with Michelle Collins happy to help.
"He’s a Day One veteran of the square & deserves a huge exit."
While a fifth soon commented: "Gina punching Ian and Phil laughing at him afterwards, what a way to end the week."
EastEnders continues Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
