EastEnders hints at Christmas murder victim with huge clue – did you spot it?

You should know by now that we can’t just watch an episode of EastEnders – we have to scour every frame for clues about the upcoming Christmas murder that has had us totally hooked since the flash forward episode in February.

The flash forward skipped right to December 2023 and showed us the interior of the Queen Vic all decked up for Christmas. However, it was clear that something dastardly had unfolded prior to the scene.

We saw The Six – Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) – all gathered around a mystery dead body following some kind of confrontation.

Who the body belongs to has remained a mystery ever since, but fans believe they’ve spotted a clue which may hint toward the victim’s identity.

In last night’s (September 28) instalment of the BBC soap, viewers saw Ian and Cindy Beale (Adam Woodyatt and Michelle Collins) head into the Queen Vic to celebrate securing half of the money from the sale of George Knight’s (Colin Salmon) Marbella bar.

In an attempt to be the bigger person, George offered the couple a bottle of champagne on the house, which is where things get interesting. Bear with us, as there is a lot to unpack in that single gesture.

Going back to the flash forward episode, we saw a number of hints as to who may have been responsible for the murder, and what the weapon may have been. Stacey Slater had blood all over her hands, while Denise Fox was clutching a broken champagne bottle…

Not long later, the bottle reappeared, this time when Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) gifted it to Sharon and Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) as an engagement present.

Does this mean that both Keanu and Ian are now in the frame to be murdered?

Both actors were spotted wearing the cursed cufflinks at the National Television Awards, which suggests they could be.

We’ve also previously discussed a theory which suggests Keanu is the body, and with evidence stacking up, we can’t say it’s looking good for him.

With 86 days left until Christmas, it’s still anyone’s guess, but we’re keeping a close eye on Mr Ian Beale…
