It was a ‘mega chilled’ day full of memories for former EastEnders legend Martine McCutcheon and her husband Jack McManus recently, as they celebrated 11 years of marriage.

Martine became hugely popular with EastEnders viewers when she played Tiffany Mitchell from 1995 to 1998. Her character met a sad end when she was run over in the Square by Frank Butcher (Mike Reid) and died at the scene.

‘Tiffany went out with a bang! If you’re going to go, that’s the way,’ Martine said of her character’s exit. After EastEnders Martine appeared in the film Love Actually, which is now essential Christmas viewing for many, and she’s also well known for her singing career, having had a number one hit with the song Perfect Moment in 1999.

On Martine’s Instagram she posted pictures of her and Jack wrapped up for wet and breezy weather, kissing and looking smiley and happy. Snippets of video show the peaceful woodland walk that they took to celebrate as they talked about their years together so far.

‘Happy 11th Wedding Anniversary Baby!’ the actress and singer wrote. ‘A tiny little snippet of our day today. I can’t believe we said “I do” in Lake Como all that time ago, but what a magical, mesmerising day it was! Meanwhile, today we’ve kept it mega chilled. We are both knackered after a full on couple of weeks, so a little stroll in the forest and rain, talking about our journey so far was perfect. So many memories and so many more to make my darling!’

Martine recently posted an update about her health as she and Jack took a trip to Mallorca for a holiday. She was diagnosed with myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME), also known as chronic fatigue syndrome, in 2011, and six years later with Lyme disease. She also suffers from fibromyalgia and all of this means that her energy levels and symptoms can vary a lot and have a massive impact on her life.

‘I wanted to share this, as people only see snippets on insta and life isn’t all fun and games… But I’m not going to wait till things are perfect to live and love my life. Grab what you can!’ she shared.

So it’s nice to see her enjoying the anniversary day. She also added that there was another reason to celebrate, as the musical Cake: The Marie Antoinette Playlist is about to open in London’s West End. Starring Zizi Strallen and Renee Lamb, the musical’s songs have been written by Jack McManus and Tasha Taylor Johnson.

‘So excited for your dream to come true next week with @cakemusical opening for a week at the Lyric theatre! Whoop!’ Martine congratulated her husband.

Jack and Martine married in 2012 in a low-key ceremony at Lake Como in front of family and friends, after Jack proposed by getting down on one knee in the snow on London’s Embankment.

‘It’s one of my favourite places in the world and because it was snowing and there wasn’t another soul around, there was something truly magical about it,’ Martine said at the time.

‘It was there, by Albert Bridge, that Jack got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was so emotional. Then we ran back to the car laughing and squealing like kids as we were so excited.’

And very happily it looks like the romance hasn’t dimmed at all for the two over the years as Martine concluded her Instagram message by saying,

‘For now, it’s time to snuggle at home, eating yummy food and watching funny TV! I love you more than you will EVER know @jackmcmanus1.’
